John was born in 1949 in Mullens, WV.  He is married to Cela J. Burge who is also a native West Virginian.  Cela practices law at Turner & Turner in our county seat of Eastville, VA.

John and Cela have four grown children; two live in VA, one in GA and one in SC.  Three are married and among them they have seven children (our grandchildren).

John and Cela moved to Cape Charles in 1998.
